Kuakini Makai is a moderately-sized subdivision with ocean and mountain views, wide roads, underground utilities, street lights and mature landscaping. As the name suggests, the neighborhood is located on the seaward or “makai” side of Kuakini Highway. Most homes in the subdivision are two or three bedrooms and range between 1,272 and 1,670 square feet. Lots average about 10,000 square feet. Most homes were built between 1988 and 1990.
There’s no through traffic as Keakealani Drive is the one access point to the subdivision. Residents of Kuakini Makai enjoy close proximity to the wonderful amenities of Kona Town such as beaches, restaurants and shopping, but are tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist district.
