The 108-acre subdivision was developed by Stanford Carr in 2003-2004. The western phase of the community is composed of 67 three-bedroom single-family homes ranging from 1,400 to 2,300 square feet. Lots range from a half-acre to an acre. Most homes are Plantation Style (board and batten) whereas others are the optional Territorial Style (stucco). Monarch Butterflies in Kahakai Estates

Long-time resident Laury Scott is President of the Board of Directors. He’s an avid supporter of Monarch Butterflies along with other residents who grow Crown Flower and other milkweed that caterpillars feed on. Laury raises Monarchs and releases them into the wild.
